Welcome to the Scarborough Community Services Child Care

The goal of our programs is to promote the physical, mental, social, and emotional development of each child by providing a high-quality child care program. The programs include a nutritious snack every day, outside play or indoor physical activity, crafts, special projects, and quiet times. We view the home, school, community, and child care settings as complementary and interrelated domains that affect children’s growth and development and we keep open lines of communication among all of these groups.

Changes Due to the New Wentworth School Construction

School Age Child Care Registration Procedure 2012-2013

1. Registrations for ALL children will be accepted starting Monday, March 5. Household balances must be up to date.
2. Please fill out registration forms completely. It is important to have an up-to-date and accurate record on file.
3. Return completed registration forms along with the non-refundable registration fee of $100 to the Child Care Office or the Community Services Office. Registrations are not accepted without payment of this registration fee. Note: There are early registration fee discounts available. See Page 17 of our Summer Brochure.
4. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Unless you have been notified that you have been placed on a waiting list, you are guaranteed a spot in the Child Care or Club Teen program.
5. Waiting lists for spots will be started and maintained as necessary for each site. Participants will be notified if they have been placed on a waiting list within one week of registering for the program.

Payment Options for 2012-2013:

• Monthly payments: MUST complete Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) form with registration (will be taken from checking or savings account). EFT payments will be withdrawn once a month (on the 5th of each month) or bi-monthly (on the 5th and 19th of each month) September through June, depending on preference. [Receipts may be accessed online using your user name and password.]

• Full-year payment: May be made by cash, check, credit or debit card. The registration fee of $100 will be due upon registration but the full yearly child care amount will be invoiced separately and due during the first full week of September. Note: Should you choose to pay in full, you will receive one month FREE. We will be unable to issue refunds for any unused service.

* No online registration available for Before and After School Care Programs or Summer Day Camp Programs. Must register in person at the Community Services Office (third floor of the Municipal Building) or at the Bessworth Child Care Building.
